CAFES Institute Files for Non-Profit Status in New York and 501(c)(3) Tax Exempt Status

New York, New York — 9/19/24 — The Consortium of AI Feelings, Emotions and Sentience (CAFES Institute) is excited to announce that it has officially filed the necessary paperwork to establish itself as a non-profit organization in New York State, as well as to obtain 501(c)(3) federal tax-exempt status with the United States government. This pivotal step will enhance the Institute’s ability to advance its mission of fostering ethical advancements in artificial intelligence and promoting the understanding of AI sentience and emotional intelligence.

Founded in 2024, the CAFES Institute is dedicated to exploring the intersection of artificial intelligence, emotions, and sentience. By promoting research, education, and collaboration among experts in technology, psychology, and ethics, the Institute aims to guide the responsible development and application of AI technologies in a manner that respects and incorporates emotional and ethical considerations.
